[ Tutorial ] Material Design Lite: Navigation, Grid and Footer

Tuesday, October 27, 2015

Good news for every web designer out there. Google has cooked up a new package that spruces up your web pages. Earlier this year, Material Design has been introduced to the public. Heading on for an all encompassing solution, the company eventually launched Material Design Lite (MDL) a few months ago. Download the Material Design Lite Kit online at www.getmdl.io

Material Design Lite (MDL) layout component is a comprehensive approach to page layout that uses MDL development tenets, allows for efficient uses of MDL components, and automatically adapts to different browsers, screen sizes, and devices.
Essentially, MDL lets you add a Material Design look and feel to your static content websites. It doesn’t rely on any JavaScript frameworks or libraries. Optimized for cross-devices uses, gracefully degrades in older browsers, and offers an experience that is accessible from the get-go.

Material Design Lite and Material Design for Bootstrap

Material Design for Bootstrap is a theme for Bootstrap 3 which lets you use the new Google Material Design in your favorite front-end framework.

[MyLife] Icons Conquer the Vikings : A Meet Up

Sunday, October 25, 2015

No friendship is an accident. People are sent your way for a reason in every season. My college friends are like tiny beads glued together to form part in the tapestry of my life. Friends always find their way home no matter what. We are glad we had a night to spend together with a friend and his wife all the way from New York. Yup, Icons finally conquer the Vikings! What a splendid time to come together and spend it with great food and awesome ambiance than in the all-exclusive Vikings resto near Mall of Asia. Big thanks to our friend for hosting the dinner.

In this day and age of buzz words, we come and live as millenials hopping from one adventure to another. Some of my friends are already charting the continents with their spirited jetsetter look while some are living in contentment with each individual pursuit. What's best about keeping genuine friendship is that in spite of being miles apart, we find time to connect and reconnect online; never get tired to share stories from sad to joyful moments. There are days when the journey may be dreadful but with friends and family around, life gives you a new meaning to dream and live more. It is comforting to note that most of the time, you find an ally and an enemy at the same time in the same people because they tell you the truth and what they think is best for you (well, without nagging). I guess I have a lot to say about friendship. I am thankful for this bunch of friends. Hope the gang is complete next time around.

Meantime, Vikings never fails in providing sumptuous and tasteful variety of cuisine. From Oriental to Mediterranean, you have it. Pick a plate and take more than a mouthful of delicious food. We did have a handful. When doing table reservations, it is wiser to ask a table far from the music band if you desire for more quiet space while dining and catching up with friends. The fee is a bit pricey at Php888 per head during weekdays and Php1,088 per head on weekends. Don't fret though because you are guaranteed to eat like a Viking and come prepared to feast! [Food] All-time Fave: Sizzling Hot Blue Crabs with Baguio Beans

Wednesday, January 7, 2015

I cooked this for the family :)
December revelry won’t be complete without sizzling hot blue crabs on our table. I saw this stall inside the vibrant wet market nearby which sells blue crabs and milk fish. I seldom chance upon a stall with a display of fresh blue crab stocks.  I guess it’s my ‘lucky craving day’ and I surely didn’t miss it.  I bought a handful one kilo of crabs worth Php250 and one-fourth kilo of Baguio beans to toast around; which costs me additional P20.

Though it is undeniable that there is abundant supply of mud crabs through out the year in this part of the country, blue crabs make the cut. It boasts of delicious meat and soft shells to chomp while you eagerly sip on the crab flesh.
