Twenty New Stuff, New Expenses, New Reasons, New Excuses, New Experiences, New People, New Choices for 2008

Wednesday, January 7, 2009

1. My faith brought me closer to God.

2. My boss gave me a gift – Living Water 2008. I don’t know whether she thinks I needed it or not but I sure did thank her for it. However I told her I prefer Daily Bread. (*winks*)
Ooopppsss!! I hope I didn’t offend her. She once told me I am so frank even though I rarely open my mouth to give my opinion out loud. Ok, she knows me better than that. I am certain though that I speak with a lot sense more than people imagine and most times they come strangely surprised with my thoughts. I don’t fret about this as a lot of them agree. harharhar!)

3. My sister flew to Dubai. (I contemplated of flying there too. She wants me to be there with her.)

4. I traveled three times to Dipolog by mid year. One with Fay. The other one with Ma’am Beth and the third one – me alone bound for a Dakak overnight stay. Dipolog is one place I have been coming to and fro since 2006 and this is my most visited city.

5. Two of my best buddies flew abroad earlier this year – (APRIL) Toffe –Melbourne, Australia – as .NET programmer, (MARCH or APRIL?) Rose Ivy – Sapporo, Japan – for her two-year Japanese Language Studies – for their call center / and pursue nursing course as well.

6. Kaye flew to USA to be with her Joe Roy Tinney. (congratulations! Yippee! He’s really nice, Kaye. Thanks for the dinner and the zamboanga visit.)

7. My friend Faye gave me a brown jacket. –yep, thanks!

8. I bought a Lee beige-color jacket as a souvenir from Gaisano Mall back in Gensan City. Trivia: My jacket and sweaters are the most expensive items I have for clothes. I don’t spend much on clothes as I do with a few gadgets.

9. I bought a pink Puma sock. (first time selecting pink)

10. My doted 3-year-old dog – smart, playful named DOUGLAS was found dead on the road early morning. We suspected someone hit him in the head or that he has been intentionally run over while on the road. Poor Douglas! How can people be so cruel?!! Di ko magets?! The truth is, I didn’t see his dead body. It’s gone when I looked for it. I was on travel and when I got back - our neighbor told me of what happened to my dog. His unexpected death never crossed my mind. I really adore that dog because like some other infant child whom I fancy and find joy teaching how to give me a tongue/spread their tongue out, that dog really was SMART when I say he was. He was born in front of our doorstep from some askal in the neighborhood which fancied giving birth in our doorstep! I adopted and fed him so to speak. Gwapo, maganda ang built at matalinong aso.I have been patient to teach him new tricks. Douglas would silently walk with me when I go outside the street to buy a bottle of coke until I return to the living room. Douglas would wait for me on the street at night and when the tricycle stops – he never fails to be alerted of my arrival and playfully jumps up to welcome me and walks with me to our house. That doggy-doggy..i miss u Douglas! I really do! Thank you for the company and for making my dream come true – to finally have a dog in you. We’re not allowed to have a dog as a pet when we were kids.

11. I’ve decided to buy a new aquarium next year. My brother sold his aquarium before. I love aquatic fishes. I’m fulfilling that dream. Hope that the fishes won’t die soon and sooner. Stick with me for awhile, oki, and will teach u how to blow bubbles! Heheheh! I would definitely delight on that one.

- Harharhar! We visited Orange and Bronze – a software development firm in Makati –with me were Mam Yolynne and Sir RJ. Mam Yolynne needed to see her first cousin who works at Orange and Bronze Software Lab. She brought Alavar crabs for her and family. My, my…twas first time to have observed a software development environment like that – so comfortable a place to work :) Thanks Mam @chelle for the Orange and Bronze T-shirt and the very geeky mug you handed to us each. You are such a very friendly and hospitable person. Your geek programmers rock too! Thanks too Mam Yolynne..you’ve been such an Ate to us ni RJ :)

14. I and mama traveled together from zamboanga to general santos city when I decided to attend the 2nd Mindanao Bloggers Summit after acquiring a slot from the limited participants of 100. We stayed there for 3 nights and 4 days @ Family Country Hotel. The event was held at the nearby Family Country Convention Center. It was so exciting sort of an eyeball and very enriching too. Putting myself in the crowd and living life fully is a blueprint for me nowadays. It helps you know when you need to get up from your seat and travel. Nakakapag-isip and unwind. Thanks to my sis for sponsoring hotel expenses. Mama really did enjoy the trip.

15. Reunited with the NUMA NUMA song! :) online.

17. First visit to the Gawad Kalinga (Tulungatung) with the Zamboanga Peninsula Bloggers. It is such a wonderful undertaking and the good intentions behind the concept of homes for the poor are laudable and exemplary. Congratulations to the humble movers of this cause.

To my surprise I found out that one of the heads there is related to me by affinity. He is the first cousin of my uncle – which is a first cousin too of my mom. Gets? I’ve heard about him before as there are only few relatives in the city. That was my first time to finally meet him. The whole day was great and a lot of fun shared with young persons with me. Thanks guys, sa uulitin! Hehehe!

Happy New Year to All! Happy new year to me!

New Beginning

How was your 2008??

It must have been a twin of ice and fire when both extremes of the opposite poles reverberated and I think I survived it well – yep, that’s my 2008. I experienced a lot of the unexpected.

But look, seven days after the whole year just ended and I am still ready to hop and abound. I have gathered a lot of inspiration online and from the real world as well. There is time for everything they say. But making it your time is the challenge. I’d like to dwell on the thought that unless a life that starts off with good intentions – the possibilities are endless.

Anyway, there is this amusement I wear in my face this very moment thinking as I woke up hours ago and had the surge to pull a knack online. This is one of the many blessings I am enjoying this year – my unlimited internet connectivity. Thank God!

The frequent summons from YouTube leaves me ecstatic while Madonna and Justin Timberlake are both giving me the itch to nail it around in 4 minutes – to save the world. Wow! How on earth must I get started?

What comes around to my mind this very early in the morning includes a few and this – imagination with action in life must prevail. I must admit, I am one of those many who is most times entangled in my own creative imagination – void of putting in space and literacy to multiply that imagination into higher grounds serving the community foremost. Well, not the lack of literacy but it is inaction in totality. I guess most of us do have that tendency. ;-)

Now, stop awhile. What I am starting this year comes out of more than a predicament that I’d like to acknowledge and overcome. To write out loud, I am personally a shy person. Yep, that’s true. This is giving me quite a turn these days and being in the crowd most of the time demands a lot from me. Now I wonder, don’t I deserve to give the crowd back something?

Hahahha! So let’s make good memories! ;-) Hop in with me and my camera! Will rock this year more than great!

And seriously, if you think you are shy still? Think about it. It’s your life at stake. If you know you have something to make a difference – come out of your shell. Walk the talk. Ride the boat. Scratch your own itch. Be creative!
